How to reset the Smart Switch

Sometimes, the smart switch is stuck in a relay state-meaning it's not responding to commands or stuck in either the 'on' or 'off' position-you can reset it with the steps below. This process forces a reset, allowing the smart switch to exit the relay state and function normally again. If the issue persists, please dropped us a text!

Step 1: Wear rubber slippers and rubber gloves. Prepare a normal sized flat screw driver and a plus screw driver. Leave the main power on and do this carefully.

Step 2: Pry the switch faceplate out from the bottom with a flat screw driver. Do not touch any electrical parts on the base plate.

Step 3: Remove the 2 screws on the baseplate to detach the switch from the wall. Keep the switch wired.

Step 4: Turn it around, and hold it firmly (without any contact to the electrical parts)

Step 5: Give it a hard knock at the start of the "seconds" logo. It should release the relays after several attempts.

It usually happens when smart switches experience a sudden surge of power like power trips and power shut downs. And when you turn the main circuit breaker on too fast, a huge inrush current, particularly from LED strip lights will potentially cause damage to the switch's internal components. We encourage you to attach a capacitor at the light point to prevent this issue from reoccurring.

If it wasn't a power shut down - please find out what caused the power trip before fixing the switches. Especially if it affected the RCCB. Get an electrician to check the mains and each power socket. Here's a tip, look for any high heat appliances like ovens, power line extension, vacuum cleaner, air-conditioning and even televisions!
