Compatible Lightings

The market today has such a wide range of lighting products and it's important to ensure compatibility with smart electrical switches. Although modern options like LEDs are available, some prefer traditional filament bulbs, such as tungsten. Though traditional, these lights can be easily integrated into a smart home setup.

  • Tungsten lights
  • LED bulbs and lamps
  • Smart Lights

Once these lights are wired to seconds smart switches, you can switch it on and off like a normal switch and even control these lightings through seconds app, combining the timeless appeal of traditional lighting with the convenience of smart technology.

Smart lights from other brands will be paired to the brand's app and switched on and off physically with seconds smart switches and app. The smart features of the lights is managed separately in the brand's app. It'll be easier to pair it with seconds smart lights which is available in our studio.

For a smooth experience, we recommend adding a capacitor to these one light point per switch. This helps prevent inrush current issues from LED lightings, which can even hurt the smart switches.

LED strip lights and LED magnetic track lights generally operate with drivers rated as high as 100W, 150W, or higher—about five to ten times more than the standard drivers. If you are using a few of these, it can lead to a multiplied inrush current effect that will hurt the electrical switches. At this moment, we do not recommend pairing our switches with magnetic track lights.

While most lighting systems are compatible, there's one exception we'd like to point out: dimmable lights, which are often paired with traditional knob-style switches. For more options, we suggest using smart dimmable lights, where you can easily control both the brightness and color temperature directly from the seconds app.
